This position is located in Dulles VA and not eligible for telecommuting
Essential Functions
- Assist the Facility Security Officer (FSO) with ensuring program compliance with all corporate and government security requirements and directives
- Maintain the personnel security program in accordance with the provisions and procedures of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM)
- Administratively process personnel security clearances in accordance with Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) requirements and maintain/update personnel security information
- Process incoming and outgoing visit requests via the Defense Information Security System (DISS)
- Ability to conduct initial security briefings, debriefings, indoctrinations, pre- / post-foreign travel briefings and refresher briefings, as appropriate
- Ability to implement/manage industrial security processes/best practice standards
- Aptitude to develop and establish an effective security awareness, training, and education program
- Maintain a database to ensure employee information is accurate and current.
- Assist with self-inspections and participate in government security reviews
- Firm understanding of what constitutes personally identifiable information (PII) and / or company proprietary and safeguarding methods to prevent unauthorized access
- Perform. other security related duties as assigned
Required Skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills for resolving security challenges while adapting to changing priorities
- Ability to communicate internally/externally in a professional manner
- Strong organizational skills with specific emphasis on attention to detail
- Ability to complete tasks independently or in a team environment
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in security, technology, or management type field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two (2) or more years’ experience with security requirements and directives
- Basic working knowledge of the NISPOM and other relevant DoD security guidance
- Experience working with computer desktop packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, etc
- Working knowledge of the Defense Information Security System (DISS) and Secure Web Fingerprint Transmission (SWFT) preferred
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Must possess and with the ability to maintain a DoD Secret security clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship; willingness to obtain a DoD Top Secret security clearance, if required
- The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours to support specific project or mission requirements
