Radar Model Independent Verification & Validation Analyst

Position Description
Phased n Research is seeking a highly motivated Radar Model Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) Analyst to join our dynamic team. This group performs IV&V on radar and missile simulation products capable of modeling system algorithms as well as low-power emissions at full RF.
In this role, you will:
Compile technical assessments and specifications from source materials
Develop and catalog testable IV&V requirements
Design and execute test scenarios
Sample and analyze waveform emissions
Analyze scenario output
Document test results with detailed analysis and compiled outputs
The workflow requires strong collaboration with the product development team and consistent communication with the customer.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Expertise
Demonstrate and robust technical understanding of radar system design and functionality, including but not limited to:
Antenna design
Signal processing
Search, acquisition, and track functionalities
Electronic protection (EP) and electronic attack (EA) techniques
Air defense platforms and missile system integration
Test & Evaluation Environment
Operate effectively in a dynamic and evolving test environment, requiring adaptability and rapid development of alternative solutions
Responsibilities include:
- Interpreting threat system description reports to develop and organize:
- Test requirements
- Test procedures
- Test metrics
- Statistical analysis
- Interpreting threat system description reports to develop and organize:
- Designing and overseeing test scenarios that stimulate desired radar behavior.
- Collecting data using a hardware-in-the-loop model with tools such as:
- Oscilloscopes
- Spectrum analyzers
- Target/jammer emulators
- Additional RF test equipment
- Designing and maintaining Python-based analysis tools to generate publication-quality test results and visualizations.
- Creating detailed test reports and supporting documentation.
- Collaborating closely with model developers to:
- Identify and resolve technical issues
- Coordinate testing activities
- Support test team needs

Customer Interaction
Provide regular status updates to government customers and program leadership
Offer iterative feedback to align expectations and team goals.
Recommend solutions to address test-related or schedule-related issues.
Seek guidance when appropriate to ensure project alignment.
Required Skills & Experience
Strong investigative, problem-solving, and documentation skills with minimal supervision
Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, MATLAB, etc.)
Ability to quickly digest technical resources (flow diagrams, tables, technical specifications)
Experience in radar, missile, or similar system Test & Evaluation (T&E) or Verification & Validation (V&V) processes
Knowledge of scenario development and design of experiments (DOE)
Strong skills in data processing, statistical methods, and analysis
Ability to generate clear, well-structured technical reports and documentation (MS Office proficiency)
Adaptability to dynamic, fast-paced environments and small-team settings
Desired Qualifications
Advanced coding skills in Python (preferred) or MATLAB
Ability to develop analysis solutions for complex test cases and large datasets
Strong visualization skills for presenting technical data clearly and concisely
In-depth understanding of radar algorithms (search, track, waveform selection, etc.)
Solid knowledge of electronic warfare (EW) and electronic protection (EP) concepts
Hands-on experience with RF instrumentation (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.)
Clearance Requirement
Active Secret clearance required
Ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI
