Position Summary
Alabama ENT & Allergy is seeking a professional, organized, and patient-focused Front Office Medical Receptionist to join our team. This role is the first point of contact for patients and plays a vital part in delivering an excellent patient experience while supporting efficient office operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer incoming phone calls, route calls, and take accurate messages
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments
- Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and referrals
- Collect copays, balances, and process payments
- Enter and update patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Manage incoming referrals and ensure timely processing
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front office environment
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow
- Handle patient inquiries with professionalism and confidentiality
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous medical office or front desk experience preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes is a plus
- Experience with EMR systems (ModMed preferred)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to travel between both offices if needed
