Job Summary

This role supports a project evaluating the feasibility of implementing packaging changes to existing medical devices as part of an ongoing cost savings initiative. The position involves researching current packaging specifications, documenting proposed changes, and analyzing their impact on product dimensions, weight, and density. The individual will collaborate with packaging and sterilization engineers to ensure accurate data and timely project completion.
Job Description
- Research existing packaging materials, dimensions, weights, and densities using the electronic document control system.
- Document current specifications in a clear and organized Excel-based format.
- Record proposed packaging changes following guidance from the packaging engineer.
- Calculate the impact of proposed changes on product weight, dimensions, and density using basic mathematical formulas within Excel.
- Review results with Packaging and/or Sterilization Engineers to obtain guidance and direction.
- Evaluate additional proposed packaging changes as directed by engineering.
- Update existing Excel spreadsheets to reflect approved packaging modifications.
- Provide accurate and reliable data by double-checking all work prior to submission.
- Maintain routine project check-ins (approximately twice per week or as required) to provide status updates and address roadblocks.
- Proactively communicate any obstacles that may impact project timelines.
Skills Required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word
- Ability to independently perform simple mathematical calculations using Excel formulas
- Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality, accurate results
- Strong organizational skills
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to follow technical guidance and work collaboratively with engineers
Education/Training/Certifications
- Associate’s Degree required
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Additional Requirements
- Must pass a drug screening and criminal background checks
- Work Shift Start Time : 08: 00 AM
- Knowledge and/or experience with medical devices preferred
- Knowledge and/or experience with product packaging preferred
- Knowledge and/or experience with sterilization of medical devices preferred
- Ability to manage deadlines in a time-sensitive project environment
Pay Rate/Salary
- Estimated Salary: $22.44 to $30.44 per hour . Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors.
