Position Summary

We are seeking a Vegetation Management Technician to join our team. In this role, you will perform skilled vegetation control and land management tasks, including tree removal, pruning, brush clearing, and equipment operation. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality work for residential, commercial, and municipal clients.

Key Responsibilities of the Vegetation Management Technician

• Operate chainsaws, pruners, pole saws, chippers, and other vegetation management equipment safely and effectively.
• Perform tree removal, pruning, lot and shoreline clearing, stump grinding, and related tasks.
• Operate heavy machinery such as skid steers, brush cutters, and chip trucks.
• Assist with storm-damage cleanup and emergency response operations as needed.
• Maintain tools and equipment, performing basic maintenance and field repairs.
• Follow strict safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to OSHA standards.
• Work effectively as part of a crew, communicating clearly with supervisors and team members.
• Leave work areas clean, safe, and visually appealing upon completion of each project.

Vegetation Management Technician Qualifications

Experience & Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in vegetation management, tree care, landscaping, or related fields.
• Utility vegetation experience a plus.

Skills & Abilities

• Proficient in the use of hand tools and power equipment for vegetation management.
• Ability to safely operate and maintain heavy equipment.
• Strong understanding of safe work practices in outdoor environments.
• Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs., work at heights, and perform tasks in varying weather conditions.

Vegetation Management Technician Other Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to work occasional evenings, weekends, and emergency shifts.
• Commitment to eco-friendly and responsible land management practices.
