We're looking for contract Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) to serve across three schools, providing essential support as part of a dedicated itinerant team. This rewarding opportunity allows you to work closely with Special Education staff and a diverse caseload, fostering communication skills and helping students reach their full academic potential.
What you bring:
- Active ASHA CCC-SLP certification
- Current Professional Educator Alabama SLP certification (can be verified online)
- Experience in school-based settings, preferably with itinerant or multi-site roles
- Strong ability to organize caseloads and adapt to varied school environments
- Compassion for students with diverse backgrounds and communication needs
- Drive to collaborate with educators, families, and interdisciplinary teams
Key duties:
- Provide high-quality speech-language interventions for approximately 60 students across three locations
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs for students with communication disorders
- Conduct assessments, reevaluations, and progress monitoring as required
- Travel between Shelby County High, Columbiana Middle, and Helena Intermediate as part of your weekly schedule
- Collaborate regularly with Special Education teams, classroom teachers, and families
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines
