Job Title: Worship Pastor (Part-Time)

Overview: We are seeking a part-time Worship Pastor to join our staff at Providence Baptist Church. This role is integral to our worship services, fostering spiritual growth through music while supporting the church’s mission and values.

Responsibilities and Job Description

Lead Worship Music

Select and prepare music for weekly worship services in collaboration with the pastor.
Direct and conduct rehearsals to ensure spiritual depth during services.

Enhance Worship Atmosphere

Create an engaging and reverent atmosphere through music that aligns with the church’s theological and worship style.
Integrate various musical genres and styles
Involve certain members of the congregation in the development and improvement of worship services, equipping them to continue future efforts, lead in your absence, etc.
Train and equip the church choir to participate in congregational worship.

Special Services and Events

Prepare music for special services (e.g., Christmas, Easter)

Personal Development

Pursue a close relationship with Jesus Christ through personal Bible study and prayer apart from congregational services.

Attendance

This position comes with the expectation that the candidate will attend all weekly services alongside the congregation, including a Sunday School class (10am), the Sunday morning worship service (830am and 11am), Discipleship Training (5pm), the Sunday evening worship service (6pm), and Wednesday evening services (6:30pm).

Qualifications

Proficiency in vocal and instrumental music.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively work with team and congregational members.
Commitment to Christian faith and understanding of worship theology.
Must be called to Gospel ministry by Jesus Christ.
Prior experience in a church or worship setting not required.

Schedule and Compensation

This is a part-time position requiring approximately 10-12 hours per week, including rehearsals and Sunday worship services.
Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
