As a new Triage Analyst at MartinFed, you'll engage in critical daily operations within our Security Operations Center (SOC). Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring incoming alerts for potential cybersecurity threats, analyzing data to determine the severity of incidents, and ensuring proper documentation for incident response activities. You will work closely with senior analysts to assess vulnerabilities and assist in coordinating responses to security incidents. Daily tasks will involve participating in briefings, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and continuously enhancing your knowledge of evolving cyber threats, particularly in contexts relevant to NASA and other high-stakes environments. Over time, you will refine your skills in identifying trends in cybersecurity incidents, contributing to the overall effectiveness of our incident response strategies.

To thrive as a Triage Analyst at MartinFed, certain skills and qualifications are essential for navigating the complexities of cybersecurity within our Security Operations Center (SOC). A Bachelor's Degree is required, alongside US citizenship with a DoD Secret Clearance, to handle sensitive information effectively. Desired certifications such as SEC+, CYSA+, and GCIH will enhance your foundational knowledge and demonstrate your commitment to cybersecurity. Candidates should possess at least two years of directly related experience in cybersecurity, showcasing a strong understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals and general networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, and other core protocols. Proficiency in demonstrated Cyber Defense Principles is essential for effective incident response and threat analysis.

Additionally, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for collaborating with team members and conveying complex cybersecurity concepts clearly, particularly when working in high-pressure situations involving stakeholders like NASA and government entities.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

• US Citizen with a Secret Clearance

• 2 years of directly related cybersecurity experience
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals
• General Networking knowledge (TCP/IP, UDP, DNS and other core protocols)
