We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our team on a part-time basis at our new, purpose-built surgery center, designed from the ground up with bariatric patients and safety as the top priority. Modern equipment and facilities are optimized for safe outpatient procedures with an outstanding safety record. All patients are carefully screened for appropriateness for outpatient surgery. The CRNA is involved in pre-op evaluation and patient selection decisions. Your expertise will ensure optimal patient outcomes through precise assessment, vigilant monitoring, and tailored anesthesia management. Responsibilities
- Administer anesthesia to bariatric patients undergoing weight loss surgical procedures with precision and safety. Primarily, bariatric patients (with occasional gallbladder cases).
- Actively involved in pre-op evaluation and patient selection decisions.
- Conduct comprehensive preoperative patient assessments, including evaluating vital signs, medical history, and physiology knowledge to determine appropriate anesthesia plans.
- Manage airway control and airway management techniques during procedures, ensuring patient safety at all times.
- Monitor patient vital signs continuously throughout procedures using advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or other EHR platforms.
- Adjust anesthesia levels as needed based on patient response, pain management requirements, and procedural demands.
- Document all medical interventions accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations and NCQA standards for quality assurance.
- Collaborate with surgical teams, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and ensure seamless procedural flow.
- Maintain proficiency in medication administration, injection techniques, and medical terminology relevant to anesthesiology practice.
- Stay current with industry best practices in airway management, physiology knowledge, and patient assessment techniques.
- Support the outpatient surgery center initiatives related to patient safety, pain management, and quality improvement programs.
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) with current licensure in the state of practice.
- Strong background in anesthesiology principles, including airway management, physiology knowledge, and anatomy understanding.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including general surgery and bariatrics, is preferred.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality of patient information at all times.
- Demonstrated ability in patient monitoring, vital signs assessment, medication administration, and pain management techniques.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.

Pay: $200.00 - $225.00 per hour
