Join a leading provider of durable medical equipment (DME) committed to improving patient care and supporting hospital partners. We are looking for a Hospital Liaison to grow key service areas, build strong relationships with hospitals, and ensure smooth patient transitions from inpatient care to the home.
Position Summary:
The Hospital Liaison is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with hospitals and other referral sources to grow key service line areas. This role serves as a critical communication link between hospital staff, physicians, patients, and their families, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and expand relationships with new and existing referral sources.
- Promote company products and services to physicians, case managers, and hospital personnel.
- Communicate with discharge planning and home care staff regarding DME needs.
- Identify and prioritize patient/family needs, including special requirements.
- Facilitate smooth transitions from acute care settings to home care.
- Function as a liaison between inpatient areas, home care, physicians, patients, and families.
- Provide patients with information on DME, collect necessary paperwork, and ensure billing requirements are met.
- Educate patients on the proper application, use, care, and expected outcomes of products.
- Ensure all documentation meets payer, company, and compliance standards.
- Schedule patients/customers, process orders, coordinate deliveries, and perform courtesy follow-ups.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive data.
- Address customer complaints promptly according to company policy and escalate when needed.
- Clean and maintain returned equipment as required.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
- One (1) year of experience in DME or hospital setting preferred.
- Excellent organization, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent sitting and use of hands.
- Regular talking, hearing, and vision requirements.
- Frequent walking, including stairs.
