In September 2003, under the Department of Defense’s Utility Privatization Program, we were awarded ownership and a 50-year contract for the operations and maintenance, upgrades and renewal and replacement of the water and wastewater distribution and collection systems and treatment facilities at Fort Rucker in Dale County, Alabama. The contract covers the main Army post, the Cairns Army Air Field, the Shell Army Heliport, and the surrounding stagefields utility systems.

Our responsibilities include system capital investment, regulatory and environmental compliance, planning, asset recapitalization, and long term operations and maintenance. The potable water distribution system at the main Post consists of ground water supply, treatment, storage and piping. The Post is served by seven active wells ranging from 425 gallons per minute (GPM) to 800 GPM capacity. There are three 500,000 gallon ground storage tanks and two 500,000 gallon elevated storage tanks with over 70 miles of piping and 1,800 service connections within the distribution system.
