Qualifications

• 5–8 years of public accounting/tax experience with a strong grasp of federal, state, and local tax regulations.

• CPA license or EA designation.

• Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, ADP RUN, and Microsoft Office Suite .

• Proven ability to manage the full accounting cycle (monthly closings, reconciliations, reporting).

• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax compliance .

• Demonstrated experience handling confidential and sensitive information with integrity.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.

• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to explain complex tax issues clearly to clients.

• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

• Team player who can work independently and collaboratively, with initiative to improve processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, and fiduciary tax returns .

• Manage and perform month-end and year-end closings , ensuring timely and accurate journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.

• Process and oversee payroll and payroll tax filings .

• Prepare and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules for clients.

• Handle client onboarding , ensuring smooth setup of processes and systems.

• Research and resolve complex tax and accounting issues .

• Assist clients with tax planning, compliance strategies, and advisory services .

• Prepare and file 1099s and other compliance documents.

• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff, reviewing work for accuracy and offering feedback.

• Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives as needed.
