Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Manual Screen Printer to join our production team. The ideal candidate is a true craftsperson with proven expertise in operating manual presses. This role is responsible for producing multi-color, high-quality prints on a variety of garments.

This position requires a strong work ethic, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Press Operation: Accurately set up, register, and operate a manual screen printing press for multi-color designs.

• Quality Control: Conduct rigorous quality checks throughout each production run to ensure print accuracy, color consistency, placement, and overall garment quality.

• Ink Management: Prepare and mix inks to match Pantone (PMS) colors and work order specifications.

• Pre-Press & Post-Press: Assist with pre-press tasks (e.g., screen preparation, coating, exposure) and post-press tasks (e.g., curing, catching, folding, and counting) as needed.

• Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of presses, screens, squeegees, and the general print shop area.

• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve common printing issues, such as registration errors, ink viscosity problems, or screen tension.

• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the production manager and other team members to ensure orders are completed correctly and on time.

Qualifications and Skills

Required:

• Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience operating a manual screen printing press.

• Proven ability to set up and register multi-color jobs with precision.

• Strong understanding of screen printing techniques, including mesh counts, ink types (plastisol, water-based), and curing standards.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

• Ability to work efficiently in a production environment and meet deadlines.

• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift 30-50 lbs (e.g., boxes of apparel, ink containers).

• Must be reliable, punctual, and have a positive, team-oriented attitude.

Preferred (Not Required):

• Experience operating an automatic screen printing press.

• Familiarity with graphic design software (Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop) for art separation or preparation.

• Experience in a high-volume shop specializing in team sports apparel.
