Job Details:

• Work 4x12 hour shifts with every other weekend requirement
• Float to like units as needed
• Possible charge nurse responsibilities when required
• Patient ratio of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends
• Care for adult and geriatric patient population
• 30-bed medical surgical unit with regular medical surgical patients
• 30-minute lunch break required with no skipped meals policy
• Must adhere to strict call-in policy
• Skills required include IV starts, isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac, colostomy/ileostomy management, feeding tube care, blood product administration, peripheral line care, PICC line management, heparin and insulin administration, PCA management, and surgical drain care
• Alabama nursing license required
• Current BLS via AHA and fit test required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Level II trauma experience and travel experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Charting system experience required
• Schedules cannot be adjusted once contract is confirmed
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off allowed
• Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
