Leading our collaborators in project execution and pushing projects forward towards delivery, is the role of Project Manager. Telegraph is seeking an experienced project manager who can coordinate our team of designers, writers, editors, and strategists to create the best work possible while ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. They will partner with account executives to maintain a superior experience for all of our clients and keep knowledge and information flowing seamlessly between departments. The ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial mindset, excels at adaptability and is a master communicator.

Location: Birmingham, AL (In-office) This role is in-office only. Candidates must currently live in the Birmingham area. Relocation assistance not available.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Developing detailed project plans and defining project scope
  • Prioritizing deliverables and identifying key milestones at the onset of a project
  • Setting project timelines and critical paths based on key deliverable due dates
  • Managing team and stakeholder expectations from project commencement to completion
  • Allocating internal and external resources according to workload prioritization for current and upcoming projects, adapting timing and priorities as needed
  • Estimating project costs and tracking usage throughout the project to avoid scope overage
  • Disseminating requirements, specifications and feedback in an organized manner so that project deliverables are clearly understood and executed upon
  • Coordinating all necessary tasks and meetings, according to established timing and milestones
  • Communicating in an effective and timely manner to and with collaborators
  • Ensuring that each collaborator understands their role and that the team works cohesively towards the projects goals
  • Fostering a collaborative environment with project teams, supporting and motivating members
  • Identify and mitigate risks to avoid scope creep, escalating to management when appropriate
  • Monitoring, tracking and reporting project progress to internal and external stakeholders
  • Creating assignments, organizing documentation and managing time tracking in project management tools
  • Working in tandem with account executives to ensure project success and client satisfaction
  • Proofing deliverables and attaining approval by necessary stakeholders
  • Documenting throughout the projects history, including what was done, who was involved, and what could be done better in the future
  • Overseeing day-to-day process and workflow management, noting opportunities to improve internal systems and increase efficiency

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in advertising, marketing, business or related field
  • 2+ years of project management experience within the creative industry, agency experience preferred
  • Experience managing at least one multi-channel advertising campaign project that spans across multiple mediums (print/web/social media/radio/tv, etc.)
  • Strong background in digital marketing including custom website page development, native advertising, digital display ads, search, email and social media
  • Proficiency in project management and communication tools such as ClickUp, Monday, HeyOrca, Figma, Google Suite and Dropbox
  • Strong listening skills and the ability to tactfully communicate to reach team consensus
  • Well-developed critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Enthusiastic, solution-oriented attitude in accepting work/new challenges
  • Excellent detail-oriented skills that allow for producing dependable and reliable project results
  • Ability to receive and implement feedback with positivity
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and conscientious work ethic
  • Proactive nature in seeking solutions and taking ownership of end results
