Sr Electrical Designer
Location: Mobile, AL
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled senior electrical designerto join our team in Mobile, AL. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the design and installation of medium and low-voltage electrical distribution systems and a strong background in the consulting engineering and construction industries. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects while collaborating with engineers, project managers, and construction teams to deliver high-quality electrical designs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed electrical designs for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects, including medium and low-voltage distribution systems.
- Perform lighting calculations and develop lighting layouts to meet project specifications and codes.
- Collaborate with project teams, including engineers, architects, and contractors, to ensure designs meet project requirements and standards.
- Prepare and review electrical drawings using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
- Conduct design reviews, troubleshoot design issues, and provide solutions to meet project timelines.
- Stay up-to-date on industry standards, codes, and best practices to ensure compliance in all designs.
- Mentor junior designers and provide guidance on technical and design-related matters.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design and installation of medium and low-voltage distribution equipment.
- Proven experience in the consulting engineering and construction industry.
- Proficiency in lighting calculations and electrical design principles.
- Advanced skills in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of relevant electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with project management and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with energy-efficient design and sustainable electrical solutions.
