System Administrator - ACAS System Security Compliance Administrator

A dynamic and motivated individual is needed for a Senior or Mid-Level ACAS System Security Compliance Administrator role supporting the U.S. Air Force at Maxwell AFB, Gunter Annex. This position focuses on information system administration with a strong emphasis on cybersecurity and vulnerability assessment analysis. Key Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain security and compliance baseline configurations for vulnerability management solutions (VMS).

Support the implementation of Tenable products within Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), including SecurityCenter (SC) and Nessus scanners.

Collaborate with cybersecurity personnel to ensure compliance with security policies and best practices across multiple networks.

Work with system administrators to develop security compliance reports, collections, and asset management solutions.

Deploy, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Tenable components across local and remote environments.

Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards, reducing risk exposure.

Assist with configuration audits, security policy development, and maintenance of compliance scans.

Manage and document system configurations, including IP addresses, DNS entries, access controls, and security certificates.

Coordinate scan schedules, ensure full coverage of target systems, and maintain accurate vulnerability assessments.

Provide cybersecurity staff with scanning capabilities and system administration support.

Assist with Department of Defense (DoD) security reporting requirements, including DISA Continuous Monitoring and Risk Scoring (CMRS).

Participate in vulnerability management processes, including scanning, patching, rescanning, and reporting.

Qualifications & Requirements:

1 to 4 years of hands-on experience in ACAS system administration and cybersecurity.

Strong knowledge of Tenable SecurityCenter (SC) and Nessus products.

Experience working with Linux (RHEL) and Windows operating systems in enterprise environments.

Familiarity with virtualized environments such as VMware vSphere and ESXi.

Experience setting up, executing, and analyzing Tenable Nessus scans.

Ability to install, patch, and document Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs).

Proficiency in troubleshooting, critical thinking, and analytical problem-solving.

Experience working with network security tools such as Forescout, SolarWinds, McAfee ESS, or Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM).

Understanding of network security concepts, VLANs, trunking, and port channels.

Knowledge of IP routing, OSI model, and enterprise networking protocols.

Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cybersecurity teams.

Any scripting experience in Bash, Perl, PowerShell, Python, or Nessus Attack Scripting Language (NASL) is a plus.

Knowledge of disaster recovery and risk reduction strategies.
