Job Description
Lincoln Transportation LLC is excited to announce an opening for a dedicated and skilled Flatbed Class A Driver. This is a Full-Time position requiring a committed individual capable of managing heavy-duty transportation tasks. Our drivers are the backbone of our operations, ensuring the safe and timely transport of goods while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. This role is crucial for keeping supply chains efficient and effective and is geared towards individuals who thrive in dynamic, hands-on work environments. Please note, this is not a remote job, and on-road presence is essential.
The successful candidate will enjoy the benefit of being home on weekends, offering a balanced work-life integration. Our operations predominantly cover the eastern 2/3 of the United States, focusing on the transportation of construction materials, pipes, and steel commodities. In most regions of the US, our schedules are arranged to ensure that drivers are home weekly, fostering both job satisfaction and high performance among our dedicated team members.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate a flatbed truck to transport various construction, pipe, and steel commodities across the eastern 2/3 of the United States.
- Ensure the secure loading, transporting, and unloading of cargo, adhering to all safety and transportation regulations.
- Conduct routine truck inspections and maintenance to guarantee safe operation; report any necessary repairs to the fleet management team promptly.
- Follow planned routing and meet delivery schedules set forth by the logistics coordinator.
- Maintain comprehensive journey logs and cargo documentation as per company and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to update on progress and manage any on-road incidents or delays.
- Represent Lincoln Transportation LLC with professionalism during interactions with customers and the public to uphold the company's reputation.
- Participate in safety meetings and ongoing training sessions as required by the company to enhance job performance and knowledge of industry standards.
Requirements
- Class A CDL required.
- Minimum age requirement of 22 years.
- At least 5 years after any DUI incident.
- Consideration of applicants with felony records on a case-by-case basis.
- No failed drug screens in employment history.
- Over the road (OTR) experience: minimum of 12 months, with at least 6 months specific to flatbed operations.
- Ability to manage demanding physical activities including, but not limited to, lifting, pulling, and managing heavy equipment and objects.
- Excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with clients, staff, and management.
- A keen eye for detail and commitment to safety in all aspects of the transportation process.
