Job Title: Experienced Diesel Mechanic ($20-$35 per hour)
Location: Montgomery, AL
Job Type: Full-time
Shift: Day shift
Pay Range: $20-$35 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, and drive-train systems
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on trucks and heavy equipment
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and hydraulic systems
- Conduct DOT inspections and ensure equipment meets safety standards
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical issues
- Work independently and communicate effectively with supervisors and drivers
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic (fleet, heavy truck, or equipment)
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, brakes, suspensions, and electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus but not required)
- Own basic mechanic tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with diagnostic software (e.g., Cummins INSITE, CAT ET)
- Knowledge of DOT regulations
- Welding or fabrication experience
- ASE Certifications are a plus
