About the Job
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager, Program Management to lead and grow a high-performing team of program managers, delivering integrated solutions for our Department of Defense (DoD) customers. This leadership role is pivotal to ensuring program success across cost, schedule, and performance, while also driving innovation and maintaining strong customer relationships.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in defense program execution, a passion for technical excellence, and an ability to foster collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. This individual will play a key role in expanding our business, executing complex program portfolios, and aligning internal resources to strategic priorities.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Use core Program Management skills to oversee the cost, schedule, and performance of multiple programs.
- Provide overall leadership and direction to a team of program managers, ensuring execution excellence and consistency.
- Proactively communicate with internal and external leaders throughout the entire program lifecycle.
- Serve as a primary interface with external customers, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term relationship success.
- Work in a collaborative team environment on complex and fast-moving projects.
- Drive technical excellence by setting standards and enabling execution across programs.
- Assist in contract negotiations, pricing, and terms and conditions in support of growth and delivery objectives.
- Partner with Business Development, Strategy, and Customer Liaisons to support growth initiatives including proposal development, quoting, and customer engagement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in the Department of Defense or Aerospace industry.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (Engineering, Business, or similar).
- At least 10 years of experience managing complex technical programs or projects.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple program portfolios.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and Microsoft Project.
- Strong understanding of earned value management (EVM) and financial forecasting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexible and adaptable in dynamic, high-tempo environments.
- Self-starter capable of working independently or remotely with minimal supervision.
- Ability to support travel up to 30%.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
- Experience working with or on behalf of programs located at the Detroit Arsenal.
- Established industry network and relationships within the defense community.
