Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Mid-Level Software Engineer to lead and support application development efforts in alignment with IT infrastructure goals. This role involves the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software solutions, including the integration of third-party components, the enhancement of existing codebases, and the automation of O&M tasks. Candidates must have experience in large-scale application deployment and analytics-driven development, as well as an active Top Secret clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and manage custom software solutions in support of IT infrastructure and mission needs.
- Integrate third-party components and develop new custom capabilities to extend functionality.
- Modify and maintain existing codebases to improve performance, usability, and security.
- Identify and recommend process improvements and automation opportunities for operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement technical solutions based on direction from lead architects, including complex data processing, statistical modeling, and advanced analytics.
- Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC), including planning, requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and QA.
- Support technical activities such as project milestone reviews, architecture discussions, and best practices knowledge sharing.
- Provide resource estimation for development efforts and contribute to project planning.
- Document solutions and conduct knowledge transfer sessions with technical teams.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Active Top Secret clearance required.
- Proficient in modern programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, or C#.
- Experience in integrating APIs, third-party libraries, and legacy systems.
- Strong background in application design, architecture, and deployment.
- Familiarity with large-scale data processing, analytics, and/or statistical modeling tools.
- Understanding of CI/CD practices, version control systems (e.g., Git), and automated testing.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in government or secure environments.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps principles and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, etc.).
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform).
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
