Keep critical environments cool and operations safe
Picture walking into a facility where product quality and occupant comfort depend on you. A quick scan of logs reveals a performance dip on an ammonia system; you trace it through the schematic, validate with your ohmmeter, and execute a targeted repair. Later, you tune a boiler, replace an appliance component, and fabricate a minor part with welding to close out the day. Your work keeps commercial and industrial systems reliable.
Your impact- Proactively inspect and diagnose refrigeration, HVAC, and mechanical systems using diagrams, manuals, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters.
- Restore functionality to air conditioning units, boilers, ammonia refrigeration systems, plumbing fixtures, and appliance components.
- Install, modify, and service HVAC/R equipment to meet design intent and safety standards.
- Employ welding to repair or fabricate mechanical components when appropriate.
- Interpret HVAC schematics and design documentation to resolve complex issues.
- Document every inspection, repair, and modification through detailed service records and logs.
- Track record as an HVAC/R or refrigeration service technician.
- Hands-on involvement with construction-related installation or maintenance of mechanical systems.
- Experience with property maintenance activities tied to mechanical systems.
- Working knowledge of plumbing, appliance repair, boiler operation, and general equipment repair.
- Fluency in reading schematics and confidence using technical diagrams.
- Mechanical strengths; exposure to welding, boiler maintenance, or ammonia refrigeration is advantageous.
- Field service background with HVAC/R units or mechanical equipment in commercial and industrial environments.
