We are seeking an Environmental Engineer Intern for Summer 2026 who is passionate about sustainability, driven by curiosity and keen to grow, learn, develop and thrive in our high-performance culture. This opportunity will be a 10-week, paid internship beginning May 27th, 2026. This internship will be based in Portland, CO. **WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING** As an Environmental Engineer Intern, you will work closely with our team to ensure that our cement plant operates in an environmentally responsible manner. You will play a key role in evaluating and improving our environmental practices, while also engaging with employees in the field to refine and implement environmental procedures. + Environmental Program Enhancement: Actively participate in the continuous improvement of environmental initiatives, contributing innovative ideas and perspectives. + Field Engagement: Conduct daily interactions with plant employees and contractors, providing guidance on environmental practices and procedures. + Inspections and Monitoring: Perform regular environmental inspections, monitoring, and testing of equipment, processes, and emissions to ensure compliance with environmental standards. + Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze environmental data, including air and water quality, waste management, and energy consumption, to identify trends and areas for improvement. + Safety Protocols: Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors. + Skill Application: Utilize a range of skills and knowledge in day-to-day operations, working collaboratively to achieve team and company goals. + Executive Presentation: At the end of your internship, you'll present your learnings and contributions to our executive leadership team. **WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR** We are looking for enthusiastic students who meet the following criteria: + Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program majoring in Environmental Engineering or similar field. + Strong academic performance with a solid understanding of engineering principles. + Geographic flexibility to work at various sites. + Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. + High energy and a proactive approach to tackling new challenges. + A team player who can collaborate across different levels of the organization. + Willingness to spend significant time in the field, gaining hands-on experience and firsthand knowledge of our business operations. **SCHEDULE AND ENVIRONMENT** + Work Schedule: This is an onsite role with a mandatory 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday, working an 8-hour shift each day. + Work Environment: You will be working in a cement manufacturing and production environment, which includes exposure to moving mechanical equipment, airborne particles, and various weather conditions. + Transportation: Interns are responsible for their own transportation to and from their worksites. + Travel: Throughout the internship, you may need to travel to other sites for tours, shadowing experiences, or intern events. **BENEFITS OF OUR INTERNSHIP PROGRAM** + Experience within the building materials industry. + Mentorship and professional development training throughout the summer. + A culture that promotes diversity, teamwork, work/life balance, and recognition. + Learn about the industry from all levels of Amrize management. + Potential opportunity, upon graduation, for full-time employment with a successful, fast-growing company! **BUILDING INCLUSIVE WORKSPACES** At Amrize, there is endless opportunity for you to play your part.
