**Essential Duties and Tasks**

+ Lead by example, with a positive outlook, through practice and work habit, a desire to follow all policies and procedures in the plan environment to develop and maintain a safe, efficient, high quality, low waste workplace and maximize the development of the personnel they lead.
+ Demonstrate the ability to accomplish tasks through thoughtful delegation to others in the work group.
+ Train, coach and enforce all company safety policies.
+ Train personnel to operate, adjust, repair, and maintain the machinery; performing the most complex work with the assistance of maintenance personnel.
+ Perform quality inspections periodically to ensure manufactured product meets standards.
+ Perform operator duties as required.
+ Provide feedback to the Shift Supervisor on the performance of the department and assist in performance reviews of the personnel they lead.
+ Set print and gauge printers.
+ Must be able to work overtime as needed, including Saturdays and holidays.
+ Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Production Manager or Plant Manager.
**Qualifications, Education and Experience**
+ High school diploma or GED is required.
+ Very high mechanical aptitude is required and must have the ability to read a ruler to 1/32".
+ Required to obtain a set of tools and toolbox to perform job requirements.
+ Maintains strict confidentiality and protects privacy of confidential/sensitive information.
+ Exceptional time management and organization skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously establishing priorities to meet deadlines.
+ Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written) with staff, and internal and external clients.
+ Intermediate computer and math skills.
+ Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions and/or options.
+ Self-confident, self-motivated polished professional who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment.

**Work Environment**
Work primarily in a non-climate controlled indoor environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Hearing protection, safety shoes and vision protection required.
This role operates in a manufacturing environment. Employee is exposed to non-toxic/nuisance smells from chemicals, airborne dust, moving mechanical parts, high noise levels and hot/humid environmental conditions in the manufacturing area during extremely hot summer months.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and be able to climb ladders to work on machinery.
