Job Summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Computer User Support Specialist Advanced to join our dynamic and mission-focused team. In this role, you will serve as a key resource for diagnosing and resolving technical issues encountered by end users. You will utilize remote support tools and an automated ticketing system to efficiently manage and document support interactions, ensuring a smooth and responsive IT experience. When necessary, you will conduct on-site visits to provide hands-on troubleshooting, perform system maintenance, and deliver user training to enhance overall technology adoption and performance.

Compensation Minimum: $70,000

Compensation Maximum: $80,000

Job Requirements:

Skills / Experience Required

Computer User Support Specialist Skills/Experience required:

• Current active Secret clearance
• Minimum of 4 years of professional IT experience providing services aligned with the responsibilities of this role
• Experience with key software platforms and network technologies, including, Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office, Trellix HBSS/ESS and Horizon VDI, SharePoint and Microsoft Active Directory, TCP/IP Networking
• Strong knowledge of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and consistently meeting required service levels
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware—including operating system configuration, user account management, and system backup and recovery
• Meet regularly with users to understand organizational needs, offer guidance on IT processes, and provide training on procedures and best practices
• Maintain clear, consistent communication with customers to ensure coordinated support efforts and strong working relationships
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot end-user devices such as desktops, laptops, printers, and scanners
• Perform hands-on installations, troubleshooting, and repairs when remote assistance is not possible
• Create, modify, and delete user accounts as needed, following proper protocols
• Apply a solid understanding of information security principles, standards, and protocols to all tasks

Education / Certifications

• Strongly desired: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering degree or degree in Mathematics or Engineering
• Relevant industry experience may be considered in lieu of formal education for this position
• DOD 8570.01 IAT II certification required to start (e.g, Security+). Must be able to obtain a DODM 8140.03 advanced level certification before government deadline (Advanced: FITSP-O or GICSP or CASP+ or CISA or SSCP).

Security Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance is/may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
