First Community Bank of Central Alabama is a commercial bank that has been open since August 2001. We currently have offices in Wetumpka, Millbrook, Eclectic, Prattville, Tallassee, South Tallassee, West Prattville, Pine Level and Holtville. We also operate a Wealth Management Division, First Community Financial Service and a full-service mortgage company, First Community Mortgage.

About the Role:

As a Full Time Teller at our South Tallassee location, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers conducting financial transactions at the bank. Your role is essential in delivering exceptional customer service while accurately processing deposits, withdrawals, payments, and other banking activities. You will contribute to the overall efficiency and security of branch operations by adhering to established policies and procedures. Additionally, you will identify customer needs and refer them to appropriate banking specialists to support their financial goals. Your attention to detail and professionalism will help maintain the bank’s reputation for trustworthiness and reliability.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math skills and ability to handle cash accurately.
• Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a financial institution.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with diverse customers.
• Ability to work full-time hours 8:00am-5:30pm.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience using banking software or teller systems.
• Knowledge of banking products and services.
• Certification as a bank teller or related financial credential.
• Bilingual abilities to assist a diverse customer base.
• Demonstrated ability to identify sales opportunities and refer customers effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Process routine banking transactions including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, and loan payments accurately and efficiently.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly, answering questions, and resolving issues promptly.
• Maintain compliance with banking regulations and internal policies to ensure the security and confidentiality of customer information.
• Balance cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift and report any discrepancies immediately.
• Identify opportunities to promote bank products and services that meet customer needs and refer customers to appropriate specialists.

The required skills such as strong communication and basic math are used daily to interact with customers and accurately process their transactions. Attention to detail ensures that cash handling and record-keeping are precise, minimizing errors and discrepancies. Customer service skills help build rapport and trust, making customers feel valued and supported. Preferred skills like familiarity with banking software streamline transaction processing and improve efficiency. Additionally, sales and referral skills enable the teller to contribute to the bank’s growth by connecting customers with appropriate financial products.
