SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

The Handgun Product Manager is a critical member of the factory team, responsible for leading the strategic planning, development, and lifecycle management of Kimber’s handgun product lines. This role works cross-functionally to ensure that all product initiatives align with and enhance the Kimber brand, supporting company objectives in product innovation, quality, profitability, and market positioning.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the development and execution of annual product business plans, including product pricing, promotion, and distribution strategies

  • Manage new product development and oversee the performance of existing product portfolios.
  • Act as the internal expert and advocate for the handgun category, representing both consumer and channel perspectives
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and sales to define product strategy, pricing, forecasting, and profitability targets
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking, market research, and trend analysis to maintain a relevant and high-performing product line
  • Monitor business plan execution, track key performance metrics, and recommend corrective actions as needed
  • Develop product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies; support training and communications for marketing and sales
  • Coordinate internal resources and external vendors to ensure timely and successful execution of projects
  • Provide product training, demonstrations, and support for internal teams and key customers.
  • Attend trade shows, promotional events, and new product launches to represent the product line and gather market intelligence
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies and industry advancements to guide product innovation
  • Perform detailed product inspections and make decisions regarding product quality and disposition.
  • Participating in junction with R&D in product testing
  • All other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, MS Project, Photoshop, Keyshot, and other related software and programs
  • Possess at least 5-10 years of successful relevant experience
  • Experience related to firearms, firearm manufacturing, and end-user applications; including marketing, technology, pricing, forecasting, and sales
  • Knowledge of firearms; quality, features, safety, etc.
  • Demonstrable track record over a minimum of 5 years of successfully working in a high volume manufacturing environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Cross functional team builder/player with high levels of professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm
  • Must be able to work accurately and efficiently in a fast work environment that has the potential to change due to regulatory and business needs
  • Need to be detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to multi-task
  • Experience working independently with no supervision

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, or related field

Preferred:

  • CAPM or PMP Certification

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret quality performance reports and create solutions. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

This position requires various reasoning abilities in order to be successful such as:

  • Ability to collect and document data
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to perform complex and varied tasks

COMPUTER SKILLS

Required knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including MS Project, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word and MS Outlook using MS Office Windows platform. Photoshop, Keyshot, and other related software and programs.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires travel.

OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES

Attendance is an essential job requirement defined as having regular, consistent, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance including the ability to work regular hours and shifts, overtime before and after shifts and on weekends. Ability to work as part of a team, including all related departments/plants or independently as required to achieve internal and external customer satisfaction.

This position requires compliance with the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”). Must be a “U.S. Person” as defined by all pertinent regulations and are required to show proof substantiating this upon being hired.
