AV Technician Job Description

At ENG AV (Engineered Audio Video), we provide our clients with state of the art, custom audio and video integration products and services. As a Technician, you will interact directly with our clients to provide an exceptional installation experience.

Job Requirements:

• Perform installation and configuration of sound systems, projectors, screen support structures, network equipment, audio mixers, control systems, displays, cameras, microphones, etc.
• Assemble racks and test equipment to meet the job schedule.
• Attention to detail and pride in quality installation of all AV equipment per ENG AV system standards.
• Must have strong customer service and communication skills.
• Must be able to work well with other staff members and clients.
• Must be a self-motivated, independent thinker with strong problem-solving abilities.

Hiring Requirements/Physical Demands:

• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Must have average levels of eye/hand/foot coordination.
• Must be able to install, connect, and configure a variety of electronic system components, at times simultaneously.
• Must be able to climb up and down ladders and scaffolding and successfully work from high places.
• Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl in all environments for a possible extensive amount of time.
• Must be able to work in indoor and outdoor environments.
• After hours and/or travel outside of Alabama may be required.
• Basic computer skills are required

Preferred Skills / Experience:

• AV installation and customer service experience
• IP networking knowledge
• The ability to set up, load code, and connect to VTC units, DSP, and control system processors
• The ability to use hand tools, power tools, volt/ohm meter, video test pattern generators, solder and crimp connectors in a safe and efficient manner
• Current AVIXIA, CTS, CTS-I or NICET certification is a plus
• A two-year diploma from a Technical School is a plus
• AV manufacturer-based certifications and industry related training is a plus
• Security Certification (ESA) is a plus
