What Youll Be Doing

Were seeking a Tooling Engineer to join our clients team and support tooling feasibility, design, and process improvements. In this role, youll play a key part in ensuring quality tooling, smooth production, and problem-solving for injection molding operations.

Responsibilities:

• Manage molded part feasibility process, including product design reviews and design sign-off.
• Review mold flow simulation analysis throughout the design process.
• Resolve feasibility issues, including GD&T, SC, and CC requirements.
• Review and approve plastic part designs, ensuring compliance with tooling standards.
• Participate in tool design reviews and sign off on all injection mold tool designs.
• Troubleshoot and repair tooling, implement engineering changes, and oversee corrective/preventative actions.
• Maintain plant safety and housekeeping standards.
• Apply analytical problem-solving to injection molding processes and tooling challenges.
• Work with injection molding equipment, robotics, and auxiliary equipment.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in Plastics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar ( equivalent work experience considered ).
• 13+ years experience in injection molding tool and process engineering.
• 13+ years experience in mold design and the automotive industry.
• Journeyman Tool & Die Maker apprenticeship completion preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Knowledge of injection molding tool technologies (RPT, Aluminum, P-20, mold max, turbulent flow, in-mold laminates, etc.).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Willingness to travel and work at customer sites, including manufacturing plants with potential climbing, lifting, and confined space work.
