Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist I to join our dynamic team in a hospital setting. This role involves performing a variety of duties related to specimen collection, testing, and result reporting to ensure high-quality patient care.
ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:
- Perform blood draws using straight and butterfly needles
- Label, centrifuge, split, and store specimens per test requirements
- Accurately match lab requisitions with specimen tubes
- Explain collection procedures clearly and courteously
- Maintain and update patient records and equipment logs
- Package and prepare specimens for transport
- Follow OSHA and DEP safety protocols
- Support training, troubleshooting, and workflow improvements
- Answer calls and relay lab results as needed
1+ years Phlebotomy experience in hospital setting
Experience with 30+ blood draw/volume including all age groups - pediatric to geriatic
Strong Customer Service skills
Ability to work off shift
Hospital experience is a must.
Experience with heel sticks is preferred but not required.
Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a hospital setting, which is a busy environment with approximately 25 to 30 blood draws daily, depending on hospital occupancy. The role involves significant walking and standing, and requires moving a 20lb push cart with phlebotomy supplies. The candidate will work in a team setting and should be prepared to handle both pediatric and geriatric specimens. Training will be conducted on-site and can last up to two weeks.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.
