Position Overview:
This position supports department objectives by running a stamping press and working alongside press associates in accomplishing their daily tasks to ensure maximum productivity and job safety.
Position Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
- Assist Manufacturing Lead with press efficiency and productivity.
- Assist with preparation for start of work to ensure presses are ready
- Post all work orders at the end of working day for following day
- Ensure safety standards are maintained in the press area.
- Notify Manufacturing Lead of any unsafe conditions or associates not performing work safely or productively
- Ensure dies are set up to meet production demand.
- Perform die setups on daily basis
- Maintain dies to ensure quick die setup changeovers
- Ensure press area is maintained in a clean and orderly manner.
- Maintain an organized environment in the press area throughout the day
- Ensure daily clean-up of press area
- Ensure scrap bins are emptied as needed
- Ensure bulk storage area is clean and organized at all times
- Assist Lead with press room inventory.
- Conduct press room inventory monthly, quarterly, and yearly (as needed)
- Maintain an accurate physical count on inventory of all products at all times
- Maintain Company quality standards in all press room activities.
- Observe quality of all production leaving the press area
- Notify Lead of quality issues and assist with correction of production quality as necessary
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Expertise:
- Two years of manufacturing experience using machinery, tools, and equipment.
- Working knowledge of metal stamping operations to include experience with automatic feed punch press lines, tooling, progressive dies, and quick die changes in presses up to 250 tons (preferred)
- Familiarity with data entry computer skills (preferred)
- This position requires forklift certification.
