Job Description: Production Associate (Temp-to-Hire)

Work Location: Haleyville, Alabama

Hiring Immediately!

Work Location & Shifts : 210 Haleyville Industrial Rd, Haleyville, AL 35565 – 1st shift 5am-130pm, (330pm if overtime) 2nd shift - 3pm-12am (2am if overtime) Monday through Thursday, Friday overtime as needed.

Pay : Base pay is $18.00/hour to start. This information is specific to Haleyville and may not be applicable to other locations.

Overview

Temp-to-Hire Production Associates are responsible for creating quality products for our customers. They are central to our operations and our success.

What you will do:

• Operate machinery required for particular position in a safe and efficient manner, to include training of new and existing operators in the carrying out of their duties.
• Inspect product for defects and take appropriate action as per work instructions, monitor Quality Technician for consistency
• Carry out measurements and weight checks
• Assemble product as per instructions with a focus on quality and safety.
• Practice Masonite Lean Manufacturing Techniques including 5S+1
• Communicate efficiently with other employees and the leadership team in order to ensure quality product is made timely.
• Read and interpret list counts and complete all departmental paperwork correctly and timely
• Perform weekly EHS audits
• Participate in Safety Kaizens and Haleyville Masonite Plant Kaizens
• Help create/implement poke yokes for quality issues
• Read, understand, and follow production schedules.
• Set up and adjust equipment
• Gather materials as needed
• Operate motorized equipment (ie forklift, KVAL lifts, etc) as needed.
• Perform minor preventative maintenance and operator care as required
• Assist Management, Maintenance and Quality personnel when troubleshooting equipment, process, or material issues.
• Communicate effectively for flow of product through the plant
• Maintain downtime records and production information as appropriate
• Perform housekeeping duties
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment
• Work safely and follow safety rules and procedures

What you will need:

• Preferably one year experience in manufacturing setting
• HS Diploma or GED preferred
• Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Basic reading and writing skills
• Ability to add and subtract fractions and whole numbers, convert fractions to decimals
• Proficient at reading/interpreting
• High level of dexterity
• Must work well as a team
• Able to work with little supervision
• Attention to detail
• Able to lift up to 80 lbs
• Frequent ending, twisting, stooping
• Must work at a fast pace
• Standing for long continuous hours
• Ability to work in a mildly controlled environment - can expect some cold and heat during extreme weather conditions, mildly dusty environment.
• Ability to read a tape measure
