Job Overview and Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Engineer to join our team at Cruise Planners. This role is responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing large datasets to generate actionable business insights. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams including Business Intelligence, Development, and AI teams to support data-driven decision-making and enhance existing systems, including chatbot and reporting platforms.

The candidate should have strong experience in MySQL, Power BI, Python, and AWS services, along with a solid understanding of data engineering concepts such as ETL processes, data warehousing, and machine learning fundamentals. This position also offers the opportunity to contribute to AI initiatives, including expanding chatbot capabilities.

Roles and Responsibilities

· Collect, clean, and preprocess data from multiple sources including databases and external systems

· Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries for data extraction and transformation using MySQL

· Develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to present insights effectively

· Work with AWS services such as Redshift and EC2 for data storage and processing

· Ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity through regular audits and monitoring

· Collaborate with Business Intelligence teams to provide data for analysis and reporting

· Support and enhance AI-driven initiatives, including chatbot data capabilities

· Design and maintain ETL pipelines for efficient data flow and processing

· Implement and maintain data security practices to protect sensitive information

· Coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet project milestones and deadlines

· Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering and analytics

Required Qualifications and Certification

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field

· 2–5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role

· Strong proficiency in MySQL and SQL for data querying and manipulation

· Hands-on experience with Power BI for data visualization and reporting

· Experience with Python for data processing and scripting

· Working knowledge of AWS services, specifically Redshift and EC2

· Solid understanding of ETL processes and data warehousing concepts

· Basic knowledge of machine learning and AI concepts

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

· Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
