We are currently hiring for a Fitness Center Attendant - a key team member who ensures a welcoming, clean, and safe environment for all guests utilizing our state-of-the-art fitness center. Job Summary:
The Fitness Attendant will play a vital role in delivering memorable, elevated wellness experiences and supporting our guests in achieving their fitness goals while immersing them in the distinct ambiance of Elevation Fitness.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Greet guests and verify credentials, and ensure proper paperwork is completed for all new members
- Conduct fitness orientation sessions to introduce Technogym equipment, group fitness programs, and facility etiquette.
- Monitor guest activity to promote safe and proper use of gym equipment.
- Provide one-on-one guidance as needed and offer Personal Training add-ons for sale.
- Assist in maintaining gym cleanliness during shift-sanitize equipment, replenish towels, water, etc.
- Monitor restrooms, sauna, and changing areas, including lockers, and perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by the supervisor to maintain health standards. Alert the Housekeeping department for larger cleaning tasks.
- Conduct daily safety inspections and report or coordinate repairs promptly with the Engineering Department and Fitness Center Manager.
- Participate in new member recruitment and community engagement initiatives
- Assist in setting up fitness classes, small-group training sessions, or fitness events.
- Ensure all cardio and weight machines are in working order; log issues and liaise with Fitness Center Manager.
- Help to maintain organized records of inventory.
- Monitor adherence to safety protocols, enforce as necessary in collaboration with the Loss Prevention dept
- Respond appropriately to emergencies-administer CPR/First Aid, contact emergency services, follow incident reporting procedures.
- Convey guest feedback and participate in staff meetings to enhance operational efficiency.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong teamwork orientation and adaptability during busy periods
- Certified in CPR/First Aid
Preferred
- Personal Trainer certification (CPT), group exercise qualifications, or relevant vocational credentials.
- Experience in a boutique hotel fitness center.
- Knowledge of fitness trends, equipment mechanics, and exercise science.
- Familiarity with Technogym fitness software or other similar platforms.
- Multilingual ability is a plus.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Prior training or experience in fitness, wellness, or customer service (e.g., gym, recreation center) is strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of walking, standing, and sitting.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
