Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A mail order pharmacy in Alabama is seeking an experienced Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient pharmacy operations. This role requires active pharmacist licensure in both Illinois and Alabama, as PIC responsibilities will be governed by these states. Additional state licenses such as Tennessee or Georgia are a plus but not mandatory.

Schedule:

• Approximately 8 hours per week
• Flexible as long as all PIC duties are fulfilled

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee full compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations
• Maintain and update pharmacy policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality assurance programs
• Supervise medication dispensing accuracy and patient safety in the mail order process
• Manage PIC compliance requirements for Illinois, including documentation and reporting
• Supervise and support pharmacy staff involved in mail order fulfillment
• Oversee controlled substances, including DEA recordkeeping and reporting
• Prepare for audits, regulatory inspections, and corrective action plans
• Ensure proper storage, handling, packaging, and shipment of medications
• Review and approve updates to SOPs, compliance logs, and regulatory documentation
• Serve as the primary liaison for state boards, accreditation bodies, and auditors

Desired Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Pharmacist in Charge or in pharmacy leadership roles
• Strong understanding of mail order pharmacy operations and regulatory requirements
• Ability to independently manage pharmacy compliance with minimal supervision
• Proven track record of maintaining strict regulatory oversight in a flexible schedule environment
