We are seeking a Production Worker to join our team at Pinson Valley Heat Treating (PVHT). The ideal candidate will make all decisions according to the Pinson Valley Way Values and the 32 PVHT Fundamentals while adhering to the PVHT processes. This role requires a dedication to meeting our QMS metrics, scorecards, and departmental goals.

Responsibilities:

• Read and follow instructions set forth on job cards, furnace instruments, and control plans, as well as verbal instructions from supervisors.
• Safely operate industrial lift trucks, overhead cranes, and other equipment after completing necessary training and obtaining relevant licenses.
• Navigate various surfaces (gravel lots, warehouse, and plant floors) to gather necessary parts for furnace processing.
• Perform manual tasks such as manipulating valves, gauges, and levers for equipment operations.
• Use hand grinders, polishers, or cutters to sample and test the hardness of metals.
• Operate and maintain Brinell and Rockwell metal hardness testing devices (both portable and stationary).
• Safely lower baskets and fixtures into quench tanks and conduct visual inspections of parts.
• Open and close furnace, washer, and cooling station doors safely.
• Clean work areas (sweeping and using dustpans) and handle trash disposal (excluding forklift operation).
• Comply with all safety regulations, including chemical and equipment safety procedures.
• Complete tasks safely and maintain alertness to ensure personal and coworker safety.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Work cooperatively with coworkers, supervisors, and management.

Qualifications:

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Preferred background in an industrial setting
• High School Diploma or equivalent (basic reading, writing, communication, and math skills required)
• Ability to follow supervisor directions and safety guidelines

Physical Demands:

• Frequently lift up to 40 lbs.
• Position involves frequent lifting, reaching, climbing, pulling, stooping, walking, and kneeling.

Work Environment:

• Ability to work in both hot and cold environments, indoors and outdoors.
• This position will be in our Standard Department working with a team. Hours of operation 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, Monday - Friday.
